Madera Unified School District’s Winter Crew offers exciting, hands-on activities that spark creativity and build essential skills. From STEM and art to sports and music, students dive into immersive experiences while forming lasting friendships. Our all-day camp provides a safe, supportive space where students can explore, grow, and make the most of their winter break—preparing them to return to school refreshed and inspired.

Are the camps free to all students?
Yes! Winter Crew Camps are free for all students attending Madera Unified School District.
  • Nishimoto Elementary will host all students within the Red Pyramid
  • Washington Elementary will host all students within the Blue Pyramid
  • Millview Elementary will host all students within the Purple Pyramids
  • Desmond Middle School will host students from all pyramids in grades 7th – 8th
  • Purple Pyramid: Chavez, Eastin-Arcola, La Viña, Millview, Parkwood, Virginia Lee Rose, and Sierra Vista
  • Blue Pyramid: Adams, Howard, Lincoln, Madison, Washington
  • Red Pyramid: Nishimoto, Berenda, Dixieland, Monroe, Pershing
Yes, transportation will be provided from each elementary site to the designated Hub locations for breakfast. Buses depart for camps at 8:15 a.m. Students will return to the Hub by 4:00 p.m., where buses will then take them back to their home elementary site. Keep a look out on parent square for the official Transportation Schedule.

A Winter Crew staff member will be stationed at each elementary site to supervise students during pick-up, drop-off, and while traveling to their destination.

  • Our on- site camps are staffed with Site Leads, Tutors, Administrator, Safety officers, Gophers and Supporting staff as needed
  • Our away camps are staffed with vendor staff, Site Lead and Tutors.

Yes, students will receive breakfast, lunch, and a snack each day
